A place where your faith and life connect
Join us for worship and an inspiring Bible based message all in a casual come-as-you-are atmosphere.
We think Aurdal Lutheran is the perfect place for you whether you're still exploring what you believe or whether you've been a Christ follower for many years. Come and see if we're the right fit for you. If not, we'll help you connect with one of the other great churches in Portland and in the surrounding communities!
A great history and heritage
Aurdal Lutheran has a tremendous heritage. On November 22, 1874, services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremias Arneson by a visiting pastor, Rev. J.A. Bergh. Immediately after the services were concluded, the organization of Aurdal Lutheran Congregation took place. The name "Aurdal" was selected as the official name because so many of the charter members had come from a place in Norway by that name. The current church was built in 1958-1959 and was officially dedicated on August 9, 1959.
We welcome kids of all ages!
We recognize the importance of establishing a long-lasting relationship with our youth and our Savior Jesus Christ. Our Sunday School kids meet every Sunday morning at 9am beginning in September and ending in May, roughly following our local school schedule. Sunday School classes begin at Pre-K and run through 5th grade. Our Confirmation students begin at 6th grade and run through 8th grade. Our Confirmation students meet every Wednesday for an hour after school from September through May.
